Donald Trump throwing a temper tantrum is nothing new, but let’s just say he’s getting creative in his tactics. Perhaps he’s tired of blasting people on Twitter and is instead trying new methods of making people miserable, or maybe he’s actually getting more immature as the days go by. Chances are, it’s probably both and the disturbing details of how Trump is lashing out at one of his advisors is proof.
According to The New York Times, Trump is not taking kindly to his top economic adviser Gary Cohn calling him out on being a racist. Recently, Cohn spoke out against Trump’s support of neo-Nazis and white supremacists, and now Trump is throwing his most childish temper tantrum yet. The Times reported:
“Several aides said Mr. Trump is freezing out Mr. Cohn by employing a familiar tactic: refusing to make eye contact with Mr. Cohn when his adviser greets him.
At a meeting on Thursday on infrastructure at the White House with Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo of New York and members of Congress from New York and New Jersey, Mr. Kelly told participants that Mr. Cohn would lead the meeting. But Mr. Trump, whose most cutting insult is to pretend someone does not exist or that he barely knows them, virtually ignored him.”
This is hardly presidential behavior, and it is a new low even for Trump. But unable to actually communicate and handle issues like a grown adult, this is what Trump must resort to whenever he feels a little bit upset.
Trump’s childish behavior becomes more concerning as his presidency drags on, and is actually a major threat to the country’s future. How can Trump possibly survive confrontations with other world leaders or talk through more difficult issues if he doesn’t have the maturity to problem solve like an adult? America needs a grown up, and Trump is a far cry from that.
