News

With our nation so incredibly divided at the moment, when we do come together, we are reminded how wonderful it is to come together.

On Wednesday, the United States suffered yet another horrific shooting tragedy. This time, the shooter appeared to be targeting politicians, in particular, Republicans.

What we need to remember is the fact that there were two heroes present at that Congressional baseball practice where that attack took place — the Capitol Police Officers assigned to Senator Steve Scalise (R-LA).

After the shooting began, officers David Bailey and Crystal Griner sprang into action and began to move toward the shooter putting their own lives at risk for the safety of everyone else. They were both injured themselves.

With a debt of gratitude and clear appreciation for his bravery, Officer David Bailey was asked to throw the first pitch at the Congressional Baseball Game at Nationals Park. And as he came out to the pitcher’s mound on crutches he was greeted by a standing ovation from the entire stadium and a grateful nation.

It was a beautiful sight to behold as we saw everyone, regardless of party, unite together and applaud the bravery of this young man.
