While person after person connected to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign is being connected directly to Russia, it’s not at all surprising that we never really hear Trump say anything negative about Russia and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Russia is not an ally, and they haven’t been for quite some time. In fact, Putin, and his quest for warm water ports and use of unrest to his economic advantage, sides with Syrian President Assad, who most certainly is not a U.S. ally.
An easy answer for any person who is President of the United States would be to affirm that they stand against anyone who stands with Assad. Trump can’t seem to even say that. Instead Trump boasts that he hopes for a great relationship with Russia.
While speaking alongside NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, Trump promised to work with NATO allies. Russia, if you’re unaware, isn’t part of NATO, and likely never will be. However, Trump said:
“It’d be a fantastic thing if we got along with Putin and if we got along with Russia. And that could happen…”
However, he was quick to add:
“And it may not happen. It may be just the opposite.”
Then says in a blanket statement:
“I would love to be able to get along with everybody.”
“Right now the world is a mess, but I think by the time we finish I think it’s gonna be a lot better place to live. And I can tell you that speaking from myself. By the time I’m finished, it’s gonna be a lot better place to live in. ‘Cause right now it’s nasty.”

Can’t we all just get along? No. And if Trump can’t condemn Putin’s many atrocities not only with his backing of Assad but the human right’s violations within his own country, then it can be assumed Trump thinks it’s just fine.
Why can’t Trump speak ill of Putin and Russia? Seriously. WTF is with that?
Trump speaks in circles to cover up the fact that he has no idea what he is talking about. The world is nasty? The world is a mess? By the time he is finished it will be okay? Does he think we’re all idiotic seven year olds who don’t know any better? His simplistic tone not only goes to show that he’s in way beyond his depth and scope of knowledge, but he’s also desperate to convince the American people otherwise.
And for goodness sake, condemn Putin, Trump. Do it. Prove to us he’s not holding you hostage in some form. Please.
