    News, Politics

Monday was perhaps the worst day for a sitting President in history. Over the course of just 24 hours, Donald Trump’s spokesperson Kellyanne Conway came under investigation for illegally promoting Ivanka Trump’s fashion line. Then, one of Trump’s biggest congressional sycophants appeared to turn on him when Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) announced an investigation of Trump’s open air discussion of sensitive information at Mar-a-Lago. The third, and far more significant thing was the fact that Trump’s National Security Advisor, Michael Flynn, was forced to resign over allegations of collusions with Russia.

Things are going to get much worse for the Trump administration before they get better, if they ever get better, and now an intelligence official is predicting that Trump will live out the rest of his life behind bars.

John Schindler is a conservative. He’s also a retired NSA spy and a former Naval War College professor. Schindler is known for being controversial and for speaking his mind. He did, however, predict Edward Snowden’s fate:

Schindler gained a public following in 2013 after former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden leaked a cache of data on the agency’s surveillance programs. After Snowden fled to Hong Kong and then to Moscow, Schindler was one of the first commentators to argue that Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, acting as a front for Russian intelligence, played a crucial role in shuttling Snowden from Hong Kong to Moscow under the protection of the FSB, Russia’s state-security agency.

At the time, Schindler’s opinions were largely scoffed at by a media establishment with significant sympathy for Snowden. But two years later, Snowden remains in Russia indefinitely, and Assange admits he advised Snowden to go to Moscow. Tom Nichols, a professor of national security affairs at the Naval War College, where he hired Schindler, says Schindler “has been vindicated.”

Now, through his favorite mode of communication, Twitter, Schindler is predicting Trump’s fate, and watch Republicans turn on the once conservative darling.

Apparently, Schindler heard from one of his friends currently in the intelligence community. It predicted jail for Trump.

Part of that may be because Trump chose the wrong people to enter into battle with. You don’t attack the intelligence community when you have so many things to hide.

Schindler had something to say about that:

Schindler clearly doesn’t have a political agenda here, but he brings up a great point. For Trump, going after the intelligence services could be the dumbest thing he’s ever done (in a lifetime of really stupid decisions). Ultimately, it will be Trump’s thin skin and his inability to keep his mouth shut that will bring him down.
