Americans are quickly finding out that Trump’s cabinet picks are filled with crooked, money-hungry, and dishonest people.
To recap, conservative pundit Monica Crowley, President-elect Trump’s pick for senior communications director for the National Security Council, allegedly plagiarized numerous passages in her 2012 book What The (Bleep) Just Happened and her 2000 Ph.D. dissertation, according to several reports from CNN and Politico.
As explained by CNN, the book seemed to have no source-related notes or a bibliography, but it did contain 50 examples of plagiarism from numerous sources, including the copying with minor changes of news articles, other columnists, think tank, and Wikipedia.”
Another reliable source, Politico, reported that there were many passages from the her text that were “lifted”:
“More than a dozen sections of text that have been lifted, with little to no changes, from other scholarly works without proper attribution” in Crowley’s 2000 dissertation, Clearer Than Truth: Determining and Preserving Grand Strategy: The Evolution of American Policy Toward the People’s Republic of China Under Truman and Nixon, for her Ph.D in international relations at New York’s Columbia University.”
Politico Magazine also added:
“In some instances, Crowley footnoted her source but did not identify with quotation marks the text she was copying directly. In other instances, she copied text or heavily paraphrased with no attribution at all.”
Nevertheless, the acts have appeared to violate Columbia’s policies against both “Unintentional Plagiarism” and “Intentional Plagiarism,” Politico reports.
Now, Monica Crowley book will no longer be offered for sale “until revisions are made,” according to a CNN report quoting the publisher.

When asked about Crowley’s plagiarism accusations, Trump’s administration believes it is just another attempt to attack their cabinet members–playing the victim role per usual. The president-elect’s cabinet states:
“Monica’s exceptional insight and thoughtful work on how to turn this country around is exactly why she will be serving in the Administration,” the transition team said in a statement to CNN. “HarperCollins — one of the largest and most respected publishers in the world — published her book which has become a national best-seller. Any attempt to discredit Monica is nothing more than a politically motivated attack that seeks to distract from the real issues facing this country.”
One thing is certain, Donald Trump is definitely filling his swamp with these foul creatures who have nothing to offer to our nation. Let’s hope Columbia decides to review her PhD thesis because plagiarism is frowned upon. Plagiarism typically leads to shame, disgrace, and removal from job, yet Crowley’s leads to a mere review. Truly baffling.
