This year’s Golden Globes was hosted by the hilariously witty Jimmy Fallon. Throughout the night, many awards were given out, but the best award of all was Fallon consistently mocking president-elect Donald Trump.
Over the course of four minute, Fallon compared Trump to the menacing and murderous King Joffrey from the hit show “Game of Thrones,” joked about Trump’s lack of enthusiastic inauguration performers and said the ceremony, unlike the U.S. electoral system, still valued the popular vote. Fallon said:
“This is the Golden Globes. One of the few places left where America honors the popular vote.”
As the crowd broke out in laughter, Fallon started comparing Trump to “Game of Thrones” character King Joffrey, who was killed previously on the show and was known as one of the show’s most villainous characters. The Tonight Show host said:
“[Game of Thrones] has so many plot twists and shocking moments, a lot of people are wondering what it would be like if King Joffery had lived. Well, in 12 days we’re gonna find out.”
Fallon also joked that the results of the award show “were carefully tabulated by the accounting firm Ernst and Young and Putin.”
Fallon definitely made the show unenjoyable to watch by having a full on roast session dedicated to the president-elect. You can watch the hilarious clip, below:
