In what has apparently become a tradition, plagiarism seems to be rearing its pathetic head once again within the Trump ranks.
Monica Crowley is a conservative TV personality who has claimed to write a book. One would call her an author, but that seems to still be up for debate. It’s one thing to source people or publications and give proper credit where credit is due, it’s a whole different ballgame to write down word for word something someone else wrote and claim it as your own.
Here are some of the examples CNN gave of Crowley’s extremely obvious plagiarism within her book “What The (Bleep) Just Happened”:
And honestly? That’s just the tip of the iceberg. To find a full list of examples, visit CNN here.
Of course, the Trump transition team is already on top of this trying to do major damage control. They released this statement:
“Monica’s exceptional insight and thoughtful work on how to turn this country around is exactly why she will be serving in the Administration. HarperCollins—one of the largest and most respected publishers in the world—published her book which has become a national best-seller. Any attempt to discredit Monica is nothing more than a politically motivated attack that seeks to distract from the real issues facing this country.”
A response that is true to form for the Trump team. After all, nothing Trump does, or anything his family or team choices does is ever wrong. After all, it seems they want us to think things are always being done to them, never the other way around. Pointing out the obvious reasons Trump and his team are horrible for America are “distractions,” people. DISTRACTIONS. (sense the sarcasm, folks)
In addition, plagiarism is nothing new to the Trump camp. After all, part of Melania Trump’s convention speech was seemingly taken directly from Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech.
Of course, the speechwriter was blamed, and really they should be, but it still doesn’t negate the fact that it did, in fact, happen.
It’s definitely been a very interesting two years following everything Trump, his family, and his choices for top roles are doing, have done, or may do. And it’s just the beginning.
Will Crowley stay on? Probably. Because why not? Trump himself is a liar, so he probably doesn’t see it as a negative.
