Republican nominee Donald Trump has been commenting on the weekend explosions in New York City pretty much immediately after the first one happened on Saturday night, earning him criticism for calling the explosion a “bomb” before any official information was released.
Never one to admit his wrongs, Trump not only defended his fear mongering comments by doubling down now that there has been confirmation that the explosion was intentional, but Trump wants full credit for predicting the tragedy before the news did. You read that right – instead of focusing on the American people during a fearful time, Trump is once again focusing on himself and padding his ego – it’s absolutely disgusting.
In his demand to receive recognition for his supposedly psychic abilities, Trump went on Fox & Friends Monday morning to blast the media for focusing on his “bomb” statement while his rival, Hillary Clinton, had also referred to the explosion as a “bombing” for there was official confirmation. Trump went on a tear against CNN in particular, for editing out the bit where she used the term ‘bombing’ from a video clip. Trump whined:
“They took it out. Do you think if that happened to me, do you think they would take it out? They don’t only take things out, it feels like they add things. These people are the most dishonest people. CNN is so disgusting and dishonest.”
While Trump may have a point that he wasn’t the only one to call the incident a bomb attack, Trump outdid himself when he bragged about how right he was:
“She used the words ‘bombs’ also, by the way, that’s true. I heard I was criticized for calling it correctly. What I said was exactly correct. I should be a newscaster because I called it before the news. But what I said was exactly correct and everybody says ‘While he was right, he called it too soon.’ Okay, give me a break.”

The fact that Trump wants full credit for this is particularly disgusting because he was already a motivating factor in the bombing. A report reveals that the NYC bomber said this in a manifesto:
“I did it because I cannot stand society. I cannot live in a world where homosexuals like myself as well as the rest of the LGBTQ+ community are looked down upon by society.
I am not going to live in a country where it is OK to have a misogynist, xenophobic, racist Islamophobic, [R]epublican candidate running for President of The United States!”
This should make all of us terrified of Trump becoming the next President.
