Lady Grey, a jewelry brand that is well-sought after by celebrities such as Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Selena Gomez, has just sent a message to the Trump family that they’ll never forget.
Lady Grey’s owners, Jill Martinelli and Sabine LeGuyader are without a doubt proud of the high-profile clientele their brand has attracted, but they’ve just proven to the world that you can’t put a price tag on voting with your conscience (something Republicans can surely learn from).
When Lady Grey got an order from Ivanka Trump for an ear cuff, the jewelry brand made no mention of the sale on their press page (probably because they did not want to associate themselves with Republican nominee Donald Trump or his supportive family members).
Instead, the jewelry company did something epic and hit back where it would hurt the Trumps. Lady Grey sent a hand-written letter back to Trump’s daughter along with the jewelry she ordered, and posted it to Instagram for all to see:
In an interview with The Cut, Lady Grey explained their actions like this:
“While we were flattered to receive an order from Ivanka Trump, our social and political views couldn’t be further from those of the Trump campaign. When we received her order, we instantly felt compelled to take the money and donate it to a few organizations that were more aligned with our ideals.”
The note explained to Ivanka just where her money was going – to the American Immigration Council, the Everytown for Gun Safety Organization, and the Hillary Clinton campaign. The brand also sent a strong message to fellow Americans by saying they “strongly feel that everyone and anyone can make a difference through actively supporting the causes that they believe in, no matter how big or small.” Bravo, Lady Grey!
