Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has made some terrible statements about minorities and women that should render him a criminal, given the fact that he’s poisoned the nation with his racist rhetoric. However, his hate speech in of itself is not a crime but trump’s actions are. Trump’s solicitation of foreign donations for his campaign is illegal and a strong call is now underway for a Department of Justice investigation.
Jonathan Swan of The Hill tweeted the news that Trump continues to raise money from foreign sources:

There is already an Federal Election Commission complaint and a criminal complaint against Trump for illegally soliciting foreign donations and it’s a surprise that the Justice Department hasn’t yet intervened and an even bigger surprise that the Trump campaign continues to ask foreign nationals for money, either disregarding the ramifications or just being plain stupid. Here it is in plain language by the (FEC):
“The Federal Election Campaign Act (FEC) prohibits any foreign national from contributing, donating or spending funds in connection with any federal, state, or local election in the United States, either directly or indirectly. It is also unlawful to help foreign nationals violate that ban or to solicit, receive or accept contributions or donations from them. Persons who knowingly and willfully engage in these activities may be subject to fines and/or imprisonment.”
The bottom line is that we have an individual here who is running for the presidency of the United States, yet he is violating one of the country’s most important rules. At the very least, he shouldn’t be commander in chief.
