  • Trump Got Brutally Smacked Down By Two Women Last Night And It Was PERFECT (VIDEO)

Crime, News, Politics, Racism, Reproductive Rights, Women

Last night at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, actresses Lena Dunham and America Ferrera took the stage to pull Republican nominee Donald Trump apart in front of the millions of Americans tuning in. The two women were a brilliant pair – Dunham is an outspoken feminist and sexual assault survivor and Ferrera’s parents had immigrated to America from Honduras. Really, no two people could have been better at telling Americans that we “cannot afford” to have Trump in the White House.

As they began their speech, it was obvious that Trump was going to be shredded. The two highlighted all the awful things Trump has said about women and immigrants, reminding Americans just what a sexist, racist person the GOP had nominated. Dunham spoke first and said:

“I’m Lena Dunham, and according to Donald Trump, my body is probably, like, a two.”

When Ferrera introduced herself, she said:

“And I’m America Ferrera, and according to Donald Trump, I’m probably a rapist.”

Their delivery was spot on, and the crowd loved it. The pair went deeper into the issues, explaining just why Trump’s comments were offensive and should not only be taken seriously, but condemned. Ferrera spoke about her experiences growing up as the daughter of immigrants. She said:

“I am profoundly grateful for the access and opportunity that exists in this extraordinary nation. I was educated in public schools, my talents were nurtured through public arts programs, and you know what, occasionally I needed a free meal to get through the school day. Not everybody looks at millions of young people like me … and sees an investment.”

Dunham also spoke about Trump’s blatant misogyny and lack of concern for women’s rights. She explained how Trump’s anti-woman views could have dire consequences for the health of American women:

“I am a pro-choice, feminist sexual assault survivor with a chronic reproductive illness. Donald Trump and his party think I should be punished for exercising my constitutional rights. His rhetoric about about women takes us back to a time where we were meant to be beautiful and silent. Meanwhile, 22 years ago, Hillary Clinton declared that women’s rights are human rights.”

Dunham and Ferrera’s message to Americans was this:

“Donald’s not making America great again. He’s making America hate again. And the vast majority of us, we cannot afford to see his vision of America come to be.”
