After being pummeled by Donald Trump for the Republican nomination for the presidency, some former candidates decided to accept defeat and walk away from it all. Not Chris Christie, who is a prime example of the “If you can’t beat them, join them” logic. Yet, watching Chris Christie become Donald Trump’s personal bit** has been quite entertaining yet at the same time, one can’t help but feel sorry for a guy who seemed respectable, at least before he endorsed Trump. In a series of embarrassing moments showing Christie selling himself to the devil, reports are in that he is now fetching Trump’s McDonald’s on a regular basis. Here’s what TPM reported via the New Yorker:
“[Christie] has transformed himself into a sort of manservant, who is constantly with Trump at events,” Ryan Lizza wrote in the magazine’s June 20 issue. Lizza also said one anonymous Republican source told him a friend on Trump’s campaign used Snapchat to send him a video of Christie fetching Trump’s McDonald’s order.”
The latest embarrassment comes on the heels of Trump demanding that Christie stop eating Oreo cookies in public. Here’s what Trump said at a campaign event in New Jersey last month:
“I’m not eating Oreos anymore, you know that — but neither is Chris. You’re not eating Oreos anymore. No more Oreos. For either of us, Chris. Don’t feel bad. And Chris, you can’t even give him a table and a seat? That’s terrible.”
The country was both surprised and alarmed when Christie endorsed Trump. During the now infamous press conference, Christie looked like a deer caught in headlights. He also looked like he was being held hostage in a scene that created fodder for comedians across the country.
